National Anveshika Experimental Skill Test (NAEST) is a Competition on Physics Experiments conducted by National Anveshika Network of India (NANI) in collaboration with Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), IIT Kanpur. It is coordinated by none other than Prof. H.C.Verma.

Prof. Harish Chandra Verma is an Indian experimental physicist and a professor emeritus of the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur since 1994. His field of research is nuclear physics. He has authored graduate, undergraduate, and school textbooks. His most popular work is Concepts of Physics, a two-volume book which is consulted by IIT-JEE Aspirants all over India.

"National level test of Experimental skill of students is being conducted by National Anveshika Network Of India (NANI) under the partnership of Prof. H. C. Verma. It is an IAPT initiative. It's first-round i.e. screening round is to be conducted online from IIT Kanpur Mookit Platform. The entire NAEST process is free of cost. Students from class 9 to M.Sc. are eligible to apply. To ensure maximum participation all are requested to share this. I request the eligible students and School/College Principals to ask their students to get registered for the programme.

Eligibility: Any Indian student enrolled in standard 9-12/B.Sc./M.Sc from any academic institution in India

There is no registration fee.

Registration Closes on 31st July 2020.

NANI has been conducting NAEST since the year 2014. It had been an offline test and the number of participants was thus limited. This time there has not been any limitation put on the number of participants who can give this Online Test.

It will be conducted in 3 rounds. The first one is the Screening Round. In this round 8 to 10 short videos of some innovative experiments will be shown to the students and questions will be asked to test their observation skills and a basic understanding of the subject. This round will be conducted on 9th August. The selected students will go to the next round, Prelims, which will be held in Anveshikas.
